Terms of Use

Last updated: November 7, 2026

These terms govern your use of DropCrate at https://dropcrate.org, provided by DropCrate ("we", "us"). By using DropCrate you agree to them.

What DropCrate does

DropCrate helps you turn a playlist into a shopping list, and then name, file and tag music files that you already own. It does not sell, stream, download or copy music, and it does not bypass copy protection.

Your music and your rights

Not affiliated

DropCrate is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Beatport or any streaming service. All trademarks belong to their owners.

Your files

DropCrate works on copies: it never changes your original files. It saves renamed and re-tagged copies to the folder or zip you choose. Please keep backups of your music library. Tag and file-name changes are made automatically from the information available, so check the results before you rely on them.

Plans and payment

DropCrate has a Free plan (25 files a month with preset file names) and a paid Pro plan ($5 per month or $39 per year, in US dollars) with unlimited files, tag fixing, custom naming patterns and saving your playlist and settings to your account. Pro renews automatically at the end of each period until you cancel. You can cancel at any time using the link in your payment receipt email; you keep Pro until the end of the period you have paid for, after which your account returns to the Free plan. Refunds are described in our refund policy. Our payment provider, Paddle, is the seller of record: it processes your payment, adds any applicable taxes, and its buyer terms apply to your purchase. We may also give out single-use access codes that grant Pro for a stated period (for example one year) without payment; a code works once, has no cash value, and when its period ends your account returns to the Free plan unless you subscribe. [Lawyer: confirm wording, and prices that may change with notice.] During the beta, features may change, and limits may be introduced.

Acceptable use

Do not misuse the service, attempt to disrupt it, or use it to infringe anyone's rights.

No warranty

DropCrate is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. We do not guarantee that it will be error-free or that file names or tags will always be correct.

Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for loss of data or files, arising from your use of DropCrate. [Add a cap on liability and any region-specific wording as advised by your lawyer.]

Changes and termination

We may update these terms or the service from time to time. If you keep using DropCrate after a change, you accept the new terms. We may suspend access to anyone who breaks these terms.
